Teak Restoration Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

Teak restoration and maintenance is our passion. After restoring over 1000 Teak outdoor furniture settings in Sydney, we are now taking our niche skills to Queensland. Fornya is the preferred maintenance specialist by many of Australia’s best outdoor furniture brands.

Since expanding to Brisbane we have received enquiries from Hamilton, Teneriffe, New Farm, Chandler, Fig Tree Pocket, Ascot, Hawthorne, St Lucia and Bulimba. If you live in any other Suburb in Greater Brisbane we would love to hear from you as well.

We recently restored these stunning tables from Cosh Living:

Three beutiful Vis a Vis tables.

When we arrived at the site, the tables were mouldy, dejected, and covered with stains.

If you would like to restore your own teak outdoor furniture, here is an idea how to do it:

Restoring Teak outdoor furniture

Wash the teak

If your table looks like this, use a mould-killer and Golden care Teak cleaner

Scrub vigorously along the timber grain and follow the instructions on the products.

Because high pressure water will fray the timber and shave off the soft grain, low pressure water is recommended when cleaning. Low pressure also ensures the natural teak oil isn’t pushed out of the timber.

Rinse the teak for 5 minutes to ensure you get the brightening component out. After washing it should look like this:

The next step is very important. Sand the teak with a sanding system, starting with 100 grit and finishing with 240 grit. We use Mirka’s dust-free sanding system with built in vacuum. Sand the Teak

Always sand following the timber grain. Avoid pig tails (swirl marks) by not jumping from a course grit straight to a fine grit.

Dont oversand in one spot because you will burn the timber and that is very hard to rectify.

Wipe the table with a tack-cloth to ensure the table is free from dust before staining and sealing.

Stain and seal the Teak

What product is best for Teak? Varnish? Teak oil, Organ oil, Oil based? NO, dont use them.

Use Golden Care Teak protector. It is water-based, easy to maintain, and eco-friendly.

Here are our most popular colours:
